1. Introduction

Arogyam Waste Management Pvt. Ltd. (“Arogyam,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the information collected through our mobile applications, Arogyam Driver and Arogyam HCF (collectively, the “Apps”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the data generated by your use of the Apps.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary for the proper functioning and regulatory compliance of our biomedical waste management services:

A. User-Provided Information (Account Data)

Since all accounts are created pre-emptively via our web application, the following data is associated with your account:

  • Identity Information: Full name, employee ID, designation.
  • Contact Information: Email address, phone number.
  • Organizational Information: Associated Health Care Facility (HCF) name and ID, or Arogyam branch/route details.
  • Login Credentials:Encrypted password or other authentication token.

B. Data Collected During App Use (Operational Data)

This data is crucial for the primary function of the Apps:

  • Waste Tracking Data:
  • Barcode Information: Scanned identifiers for waste bags/containers.
  • Weight Data: Data transmitted from the Bluetooth-based weighing scale (Arogyam Driver App).
  • Collection Timestamps:Date and time of scanning and collection.
  • Device and Technical Information:
  • Bluetooth Status: Used to confirm connection to the authorized weighing scale.
  • Camera Access: :Required for barcode scanning.
  • Device Identifiers:Device type, operating system version.
  • Location Information:
  • GPS Data: We collect and monitor real-time location data (via GPS) from the Arogyam Driver App to verify collection routes and pick-up locations for regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • The Arogyam HCF App may collect location data at the time of scanning to confirm the HCF location.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To facilitate the accurate tracking, collection, and documentation of biomedical waste in compliance with regulatory mandates.
  • Compliance & Reporting: To generate required reports for governmental/regulatory bodies regarding waste collection and disposal.
  • Account Management: To authenticate users and manage access to the Apps.
  • Operational Optimization: To monitor driver routes, improve collection efficiency, and ensure service quality.
  • Security: To detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We only share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Within Arogyam: Data is shared internally with authorized personnel (e.g., supervisors, compliance officers) on a need-to-know basis for operational purposes.
  • Regulatory Bodies: We will share operational and tracking data with relevant government and environmental regulatory bodies as required by law for compliance reporting.
  • Service Providers: We may employ third-party companies to facilitate our Apps (e.g., cloud hosting) or provide services on our behalf. These third parties are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
  • Legal Requirement: We may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

5. Data Security

The security of your data is paramount. We implement commercially acceptable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We will retain your Operational Data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, typically for the duration required by local biomedical waste regulations. Account Data is retained as long as the account is active.
